I complained about the abandonment of the rotation system that would have guaranteed a cup to North America in either 2018 or 2022. I complained about how only the 2014 cup in Brazil will be held in a time zone within 4 hours of mainland USA (of World Cups between 1998 and 2022). But really I think the fact that anyone feels the need to explain where the 2022 World Cup hosts are and how to pronounce the name of FIFA’s 113th ranked national team (with a grand total of ZERO previous World Cup appearances) points out so much better than my rant did that this choice makes no sense from any sort of sporting standpoint. Anyway, soccer fans, plan now for your 2022 trip to Qatar (I hear it rhymes with guitar) because it looks like the next time FIFA will let a World Cup take place in North America will be past the life expectancy of anyone currently living. One of my best friends, Tuna, lives in Qatar. I’m so jealous. But he says hes not too stoked cause of inflation. And tourism revenue goes to the nationals. Anyway…that that guy up here said. ^^
